Love toast? Read this!

When I wake up in the morning there is rarely anything I crave more than toast. Peanut butter on toast, eggs on toast, avocado on toast and yes, sometimes something a little naughty like nutella on toast, but only because my inner child needs it.

I am all for a balanced diet, so I fight the urger to eat toast on a daily basis. I mix it up, sometimes I make porridge, omelletes on the weekend or a big batch of overnight oats if I have a busy week. But toast is still my number one, go to breakfast. So why do I feel guilty about having it?

Bread = bad carbs.

That is what we have been told for ohhhh, I don't know, the past 10 years maybe. So how excited was I when I decided to start googling how having bread for breakfast effects you and found some POSTIVE answers. Now toast lovers, I am going to share them with you!

Firstly, you can't eat any (white!) bread and hope to be healthy. The important ingredient we are looking for in the bread is Barley Kernel. Barley Kurnell is a fat burner and studies found that people eating breakfast that contained this had a higher metabolism through out the day.

Barley kernel also has positive effects on gut hormones which can help reduce inflammation, which can cause bloating.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get. Just check the ingredients for barley flour on the back of your bread.

So yay to healthy toast for breakfast with fat burning properties and without the bloat!
