Did you know that one cup of matcha green tea is the nutritional equivalent of It a drinking ten cups of regular green tea and on top of that it contains 137 times more nutrients?! We have known about the powerhouse that is matcha and the benefits of matcha for a long time, so it’s not surprising its been on our menu since day one. We love to pop it into our smoothies and shakes and it is the most common superfood people add as a booster to their smoothies.

You guys seem to love it so much that we decided to add a matcha latte to our menu! So what benefits can get expect to receive when drinking a matcha latte at The Skinny Kitchen?

This is a big one as this is the reason many people drink green tea. Matcha increases your metabolism and helps the body burn fat 4 times faster than it usually would. Some fat burners out there are known to have quite negative side effects but matcha doesn’t increase your heart rate or blood pressure.

Matcha doesn’t just increase your energy levels it increases them for up to 6 hours! It releases good, clean energy at a steady pace. Perfect for gym sessions!

Matcha leaves contain the amino acid L-Theanine which helps produce dopamine and serotonin, both chemicals enhance your mood, improve your memory and lead to better levels of concentration.

High in antioxidants and cancer fighting properties

Green tea contains catechins, which out of all the antioxidans are the most potent and beneficial. One catechin called EGCg makes up for 60% of the catechins in matcha and this is the one that is most known for its cancer fighting properties. It has been scientifically proven that matcha contains over 100 times of ECGg than other teas.
