Vegan options at The Skinny Kitchen

At the Skinny Kitchen we have just launched our winter menu! We refresh our menu every for summer and winter to keep it fresh, the produce seasonal and customers happy, as we regularly get feedback from you guys about what you want to see.

Being a vegan is becoming huge! That’s why we have catered for vegans on our menu from day 1, and this menu update is no exception. Over 1% of the UK population are now vegan, which doesn’t sound a lot but is 3 and a half times more than ten years ago, which shows how much the diet has risen in popularity.

But what is the vegan diet all about? Essentially it is a plant based diet, meaning all your food and drink comes from plant based resources such as fruit, vegetables, wholegrains, legumes, seeds and nuts with nothing coming from animal products.

We fully support people following the vegan diet at The Skinny Kitchen, we happily allow vegans to adapt meals to suit their diet and also give guides throughout our menu for those less confident. For example our vegetarian breakfast consists of free range scrambled egg, falafel, avocado, homemade beans, mushroom, tomato, relish and toasted sourdough
with vegans offered to swap the egg for extra mushroom. We do this on meals throughout the menu, but our staff are also trained to understand the vegan diet so if you are new to the diet you can get advice with us!

So what new vegan options are on The Skinny Kitchen menu?

Taco Bowl with tofu

A massive one for vegans, tofu is on the menu! You can have the taco bowl with tofu making it a fully vegan, plant based meal.

Buddah bowl

A new addition to the menu this healthy bowl falls in to our protein bowls category, making it the perfect light lunch or healthy dinner. For vegans swap the egg for extra mushroom!

Vegan burger

Our seriously stacked burger has not moved from the menu, as it’s a firm favourite with everyone. We still offer the opportunity for vegans to ditch the sauce and halloumi in favour of extra avocado, making this a vegan burger!

Buckwheat noodles

The perfect addition to a winter menu, is homemade soup and ours will be vegan every time!

Chilli bean

Another favourite that has been on the menu for a long time is the homemade bean chilli. Vegans can ditch the feta and have extra avocado.

Acai bowl

We are also serving breakfast and brunch for longer in each Skinny Kitchen, due to customer feedback, which so far everyone is loving! Our acai bowl has made its way back to the menu and is a perfect vegan breakfast.

Something on toast

We have has this section for a while with vegan options on, but have now given the customers the options to chose what bread they want toasted; sourdough or multigrain. For vegans you can have smashed avocado, homemade beans or our amazing banana and peanut butter.

Our protein pancakes are one of the most popular items on the menu, and we wanted vegans to be able to indulge too, so we added some vegan panckes!
